In the annual Women’s Health fitness challenge, we’ve diversified our visual strategies for print and digital. We introduced motion graphics and dynamic hero videos on our website and Apple News+ for an interactive user experience. For print, to enhance visual impact and cohesion within the issue, we use a new set of imagery and vibrant graphics. These graphics echo the resistance bands used in the challenge.

Sketching is always a pivotal part of my process. It provides a clear starting point for everyone involved, establishing the vision.
We created a teaser video featuring the trainer on social to create hype for the challenge.
All workout moves on website and Apple News+ feature videos for better follow-along experience.
The print version showcases a new set of images to align with the rest of the issue, and workout moves were reshot for better print presentation.

The concept aims to capture movement and energy. We showcased a model engaged in actions like jumping, running, and dancing, which were deployed across platforms. For Apple News+, we integrated AR, allowing users to interact with showcased sneakers, zoom in, or visualize them in their space. This approach enhances user experience and storytelling. On the website, demonstration videos feature staff wearing the sneakers, adding authenticity and trust to our recommendations.

On the Apple News+ App, we created AR models of sneakers, allowing users to examine them more closely. This offers more insight into the product than a standard 2D image. Here’s how the model appears as an object.

“Out of this world” isn't just a phrase; it was our guiding concept for Women’s Health’s Healthy Cooking Awards. We aimed for a radical departure from the typical visualization of kitchen tools, avoiding conventional elements like tiles and countertops. In their place, we introduced visuals that are fresh, sophisticated, and playful. Amplifying this cosmic theme, we crafted an eclipse with a frying pan and placed a pizza oven on a moon surface, all seamlessly transitioning our vision from print to digital.

We designed an award badge system to maintain a consistent look, with each award differentiated by a unique color theme for its identity.

For Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, among the challenges we tackled were crafting visual solutions sensitive to particular topics and effectively working with provided images from subjects. Our Eating Disorder illustrations prioritized support over stereotypes. Our photoshoot with an adult star highlights her strength without over-sexualizing, fostering an intimate connection with the audience. We applied a duotone treatment to provided images and Instagram posts for a unique appearance. Everything came together with a vibrant color palette of cobalt, magenta, and golden yellow.
